Eligible Recording Entry Form

Please read the Eligible Recording Entry Form Instructions before continuing:

Read the release requirements below.
Once you have read the requirements selection and verified your recording is eligible, fill in your recording information.
The third section is optional. You may include up to ONE sample song from your album.
When you have finished your entry, press the button labeled "Submit Eligible Recording" and wait patiently for the upload to take place (it will take longer with a sound file).
You will receive a confirmation screen.

STEP 1:

A recording is eligible for nomination if it is a product of a Detroit area artist(s) or has other significant local orientation.

Recording must have been released between Dec 1, 2004, and November 30, 2005. (Detroit Music Awards are scheduled for [to be announced] at the State Theatre).

Recording must be available to the public via conventional retail outlets, online or at performances. The list that will be compiled from the information submitted here is not the exclusive list of eligible recordings.

Any recording that meets the above criterion may be nominated. This list is intended solely as a reference to the nominating voter. Please include as much requested information as possible, it will assist the Foundation in notifying you in the event of your nomination.

STEP 3:

Please note, you can NOT upload a song directly from a CD.
If you put your CD in the computer and browse to it, to select a song, it will NOT work.
One can also not copy a song directly off a CD, you must "rip" the music off the CD. The latest version of Windows Media Player will do this as well as some other programs.

You can attach ONE optional sound file per album.

Most standard formats should be supported. The server will automatically re-encode your file as a mp3 with optimized bitrate and frequency for streaming playback and download.

If you experience an error, please email for help. Please include the date/time of the error, file name and file type (if you don't know, include the file extension) you where trying to upload.
