LAST YEAR'S EVENTS

The Rainbow Connection is a Michigan non-profit organization established in 1985. The mission of The Rainbow Connection is to grant wishes to children 3 to 18 years old that have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses.

Many children have seen their dreams come true because of The Rainbow connection. Some wishes that have been granted are computers, shopping sprees, an all terrain wheel chair and the most requested wish of all, a trip to Disney World! The family is always included in these trips! Memories are so important.

Another component of The Rainbow Connection is their Wish Enhancement Program. This program is designed to provide fun opportunities to the wish child and their families after the wish has been granted. Enhancements have been tickets to sporting events, theatre, the circus and picnics. This program is supported by donations from individuals and corporations. Because we believe that laughter and happiness are very therapeutic, providing families with occasions to escape the burdens that accompany these awful illnesses is an important part of the mission of The Rainbow Connection.

All wishes are considered without regard to gender, race or religious preference. Fundraisers and private donations support the organization. A Board of Directors governs The Rainbow Connection. Under their direction is the Executive Director who is responsible for the overall operations and is assisted by a multitude of volunteers.
